The Littlehampton Academy is seeking a caring and self-motivated Individual to join our specialist team working with students with assessed social and communication needs. The Academy is proud to hold the “West Sussex Autism Aware Award”.
The Scott Centre (TSC) is a special support facility funded by the Local Authority for students of mainstream ability who have social and communication needs (Autistic Spectrum Condition/semantic pragmatic disorder). All TSC students have either a statement of Special Educational Need or an Education and Health Care Plan.
TSC staff provide additional support for students, allowing them to attend mainstream classes with their peers. Within the facility, staff contribute to therapeutic interventions designed to address the individual needs of students.
TSC is open before and after school and there is a breakfast club available to students. Staff work closely with both parents/carers and subject staff to ensure the individual needs of students are met.
All TSC staff act as “keyworkers” for individuals or groups of students.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and ambitious school. The Littlehampton Academy is a large and rapidly improving academy, with a determination to improve student performance in all areas. You will be joining the academy at an incredibly exciting time and will have opportunities to contribute significantly.
